North/West Passage members are in a unique position to build upon their collaborative activities in transportation operations to pursue a multi-state or regional project. There are multiple opportunities for federal grant applications or to complete efforts within existing contracts from member states.
The purpose of this project is to advance an agreed upon project idea for a multi-state project to be pursued along the NWP corridor. This concept will initially involve a consensus building approach to finalize the need being addressed, the high-level goals and objectives, and finally the concept to be pursued. Once the concept is defined, the project will review funding source options (which may include individual states’ funds or federal grant opportunities). Next steps will then be documented and, if appropriate, a grant proposal prepared.
