16.1 Operations Task Force – Year 9

North/West Passage has supported an Operations Task Force for eight years. The intent of the task force is to establish relationships, enhance the scope of operations-oriented projects, support further implementation of project findings, and increase interaction among the states outside of major events. This project supported the task force from September 2021 to September 2022. Tasks include coordinating and facilitating operations-oriented, maintenance operations, and Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSMO) related topics for discussion during task force webinars.

June 2022On June 29, Tony Leingang presented on Washington State DOT’s Rural Incident Management Practices, Tools, and Technology.
May 2022During the May 18 webinar, each North/West Passage member state provided highlights from their 2021-22 winter and flood season.
March 2022On March 16, Travis Lutman presented on North Dakota DOT’s Autonomous Attenuator and Autonomous Mower projects.
February 2022On February 16, the Operations Task Force members discussed project ideas for the Steering Committee to consider for Work Plan 17.
January 2022The January 19, 2022 webinar included an update on the Minnesota DOT (MnDOT) WZDx Grant presented by Garrett Schreiner and the Washington State DOT (WSDOT) WZDx Grant presented by Justin Belk.

The November 17, 2021 webinar included a presentation on MnDOT’s AVL advancements in winter operations from Joe Huneke, MnDOT and also provided a round robin opportunity for member states to share advancements in winter operations from their state.
October 2021The October 20, 2021 webinar included a summary of the work completed from Project 15.5 North/West Passage Responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic and a round robin discussion on continued responses to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
September 2021The Task Force updated their membership list and planned meeting topics for the year during a webinar on September 22, 2021.
